Dr. Rey Romero (University of Houston-Downtown) will address the role of language in society and the incidence of sociopolitical contexts in language development and use, with a focus on language shift, language and identity, and language maintenance. Dr. Romero is an Associate Professor of Spanish (Ph.D., Georgetown University) at The University of Houston-Downtown. In addition
