Multilingual Family Night at the UA Museum of Natural History

A campus and community-wide event hosted by the Alabama Museum of Natural History and The University of Alabama’s Graduate School brought graduate departments together to showcase their content area through an interactive program.

This year MLC was represented by our programs in Arabic, Classics, Italian and Spanish with a variety of multilingual story times. Also, a group of Spanish students leaded by Dr. Gómez-Ocampo interacted with kids, parents and other community members with creative learning activities related to Latin American cultures and biodiversity.

The Spanish program offers different opportunities for students to engage with the local community through social service, translation and interpreting services. For more information about volunteer opportunities, visit Spanish in the Community through BamaPulse or contact Dr. Gómez-Ocampo.
