A group of Caribbean women arrive by bus to a small rural Spanish village that is overwhelmingly populated by men. In quirky and sometimes dramatic situations, they try to adapt to intercultural exchange and relationships.
On Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30 PM we have our Holy Spirit Catholic High School ESL class. We function as instructors and TAs in these classes. We prepare lesson plans and facilitate the learning process for the students who attend. These classes are a way for us to reach out to our community and try to
In Havana, Raúl dreams of escaping to Miami. He appeals to his friend Elio to help him reach the forbidden world 90 miles across the sea. One night, full of hope, they face the biggest challenge of their lives.
Saturday mornings from 10:30 AM- 12 PM at the Tuscaloosa Public Library. This class is an ESL class geared toward children. We work with kids from the age of 8 to the age of 18, who need help with reading, writing, and speaking. We are instructors and TAs in this class as well.
Honduran teenager Sayra leaves her home in Tegucigalpa to reunite with ther father who now lives in the U.S. Her travels are filled with unexpected events and encounters, until she finally reaches and crosses the American border.
This year we will honor the Undergraduate and Graduate student recipients of Academic Honors and Awards on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2pm in the Anderson Society Room of the Ferguson Center. This is Room 3115, closer to the Ballroom.
