Sarah graduated magna cum laude from Samford University in 2012 with a BA in Spanish. During her time at Samford she served as the Spanish Club President, received the Juan Manuel Sampere Samford in Spain scholarship, and earned the World Languages and Cultures Award in Portuguese and Spanish for the 2011-2012 academic year. After completing a summer internship with the Samford in Spain program in 2012, Sarah began working toward an MAEd in Spanish and ESL at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, which she completed in December of 2014. At UAB she was recognized as the Outstanding ESL Masters Student in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction for the 2014-2015 academic year. In 2015 she began teaching as an ESL Educator at Samford University, and in 2016 she began teaching first year Spanish courses at Samford University. Sarah is a second year PhD student in Spanish Linguistics at The University of Alabama and teaches Spanish as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. She is the 101 Level Coordinator for the Spanish Basic Language Program and also is serving as the Communications Chair for the 2019 University of Alabama Languages Conference.
