Courses

The World Literature Program offers a variety of courses ranging from introductory surveys through special topics to graduate courses. Since comparative literature/world literature is by definition international and often also interdisciplinary, these perspectives are reflected in the courses offered. This means that any individual course will treat works from different national or cultural traditions and may also look at phenomena in a variety of disciplines, such as literature, art, music, and film. Below you will find sample syllabi for the introductory courses (WL207, WL208) as well as syllabi for representative special topics courses. For additional information about specific courses, please contact the professor listed.
