The Gamma Kappa Alpha National Italian Honor Society acknowledges superior scholastic performance in the field of Italian language, literature, and culture, with nearly one hundred chapters in the United States and Canada. Founded in 2017, the local University of Alabama chapter recognizes the academic excellence and the dedication to the cultural knowledge of our majors and minors.
To be eligible for membership, students must complete at least five courses in Italian, including completion of the intermediate language sequence; have at least a B average in Italian courses; and graduate in the top 35% of their class.
